A weekend of drama, and nothing worth writing

Sunday.............9:30pm..............the end of a weekend...............a very full weekend, but what weekends are not full for me, lately?

On my last blog, I talked about keeping it positive. Now I am struggling to find something to write about. I was going to write about the Republican convention, that I went too on Saturday morning, but nothing good happened there. In fact I left early, at noon, because I had to go to my other job, at four. It didn't look like I would have a chance to vote on anything, because of the speeches after speeches. And that wasn't very exciting.

Then there was the baby shower. I thought that some one would tell me some thing about what happened. But all I could get out of anyone is they all had a good time. Hey I guess I should be glad no one was seriously hurt.

So I have to go back to Thursday to have some thing to talk. That is if you can say that a trip too the oral surgeon and a three hour town council meeting, is your idea of fun. The Boy Scouts from the ward, came to the meeting and lasted about an hour, or until just the county announced that they would be getting a skate park. By the way, implant on Thursday.

So then there is Sunday. Two meeting, choir practice, Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, Priesthood meeting and home teaching, in that order. Rounding out the day with a dvd of Animaniacs and my week end is done. Who could ask for more?

I am truly blessed with a full life. By for now................Boyd

P.S. I really do love the Lord and am great full for all that he gives me, including friends and family like you. Love ya.

What I like about Blogging.

What is it that I like about Blogging, you ask? I think it's because it forces me to think of the good things that are happening, all around me.

That's not how I think. We all live in a world of victims. And to some degree, we all compete to be the biggest victim. So some times, or maybe most of the time, I'm lookin' at live through turd covered glasses.

I know that I am not alone in my thinking. I (we) spend so much time and energy vying for that prize, sympathy, that we forget how beautiful this life is.

What a blessing it is to come to this earth? How great is it to life in the age of the internet? I have a great family. I have a good job (I should say a great job, but I still have that need, too prove to you that, I am a victim).
This is Gladys, a lady who comes into the convenience store were I work, a couple of nights a week. Gladys is not a victim. Instead of complaining , she will tell you about her family, in a way, that you will enjoy hearing about those you don't even know.

Gladys, like many other's I know, inspires me too look around and se all the good things in my life. And blogging, helps me to share with others, my blessing's before my trials.

How old nighmares are a blessing

last night I made a big mistake. I went to bed by ten O'clock. That means I woke up at four A.M.

So what do I do in this half awake four A.M., blur? I think about my life. I don't know why, but I remembered some nightmares I had fifteen, years ago.

Maybe three or four times I had the same nightmare, were I'm divorced from my wife. I don't remember what happened in those terrible dreams, but I do remember that feeling of loneliness that I felt when I first woke up. Replaced by the joy I felt, when I noticed my bride, stirring next to me. When it comes time to "count my many blessings", I always put my wife, Sharlene, at the top of my list, thanks to a couple of nightmares.

But thats not all. Some time around five in the morning, a song started floating around in my head. I was only joking, by Rod Stewart. One of lines form that song, might just fit this blog, too well. "Cause what I'm doing, must be wrong. Pouring my heart out in a song. Holding up for prosperity, for the whole d**n world too see". That's just who I am.

I missed Mothers day picks.

I still can't slow down but wanted to post some Mothers Day pictures, before next Mothers Day.

The Mother of my children has a lovely smile, doesn't she?

And my Mother looks good too. It was fun spending time with my Mother and my Wife. But next time I won't bring genealogy, so my Wife won't be as bored.

A short post tonight and as always, I'm late wishing you all a happy Mothers day. Next week I will be wishing my brother, happy birthday (his birthday was last Thursday).

A week goes by

Another week goes by and I think I,m still liven lavica loca. There is always some thing doing. Today is Mothers day and Last night, we gave a party for Shar's Mom. Today there is visits to my Mother and so on.

Here is Shar's Mom, Carole and Shar's sister, Chris.

And here is a picture of the world famous ( in my world anyway) Mathew.

Michelle and Malissa (all the other pictures I took, showed that Malissa is seven and a half months pregnant, so I didn't use any of those pictures).

Justin, with out a computer in his face (a very rare site).

Amy, lookin like Amy does.

And last, but never least, ( drum roll please) Sharlene.

You may notice a few tools in the background. Thats because, I got this crazy idea to rebuild, again, the upper end of my pond. It is some thing that I have wanted to do for a long time, but shouldn't have tried to do it on a party day. Especially when I worked fifteen hours days, on Thursday and Friday.

I did get half of it done, with Justin's help. And the sound of the creek, with some water falls, now, did make for a very relaxing evening.

I think that waters ponds is the wrong hobby for me. You get it lookin good, then feel like you have to add to it. With this new area at the top, I figure I am around 2,200 gallons and will be adding another 300 gallons soon. Now, if I get when of those survival filter pumps, I will have my year supply of water and fresh fish for about a month. Well maybe not the fish. It's hard to eat something that you have named.

I think that I have just traveled into rambling, so I will bid you ado'. Next blog, maybe I will put you too sleep with some oenology. Love Boyd

Pergola Pics

I thought that I would take a moment and show some of the pics of the pergola.

We went from this-

-to this.

OK the angle shot was a little more flattering, with the pond and all. But just the same, not a bad little out door oasis. A few nick nacks, outdoor furniture and some misting hose, Mom won't have a reason to go back into the house. Until next years snow, anyway. She is going to plant climbing roses on the pergola, after she paints it white. I love the color of redwood, but white will match her house better.

Hope you like the pics. by for now-Boyd

Livin Large, and Lovin It.

Haven't had to much rest lately and I am lovin' it. I will tell you that, when you are this busy, you give more thanks for the sabbath day, as a day of rest.

This is my live. I go from unemployed too everyday, running night and day. Did I mention how much I like Sundays? Funny thing is, I don't believe I have any less energy, now, then when I was unemployed.

I don't know if I am busy because there is no rest for the wicked, or if this is just a fluke in my personal time line. I do know that life is very good to me. I can also tell you that I feel the hand of providence, preparing me for something. What I do not know. But what ever it is, I will most likely be very busy.

By for now - Boyd
